1. What is a quick overview of the process?

  • You have an amazing, finished quilt top and need it quilted with the backing and batting. I am here for you!!

  • When we meet, you can decide what color of thread you would like and what edge-to-edge design you want. See the pattern library for ideas. No worries, I can help you if you want!!

  • Your quilt will be quilted across all edges and then trimmed

  • You will have your quilt returned to you and ready for the binding

2. What must I provide?

  • Quilt Top: Pressed and trimmed

  • Backing: Pressed and at least 4” larger per side than quilt top. Can be larger, but not smaller. Can be pieced, see below

  • Batting: You can provide your own as long as it is batting for "Machine Quilting"

3. Can the backing be pieced?

Yes, it is best to use a 1/2' seam. Also, please leave selvage edges on the outside of the backing.

4. What type of longarm machine is used?

I have a Bernina Q24 with Q-Matic Automation.

5. Is free-motion quilting offered?

Not at this time.

6. What is the largest quilt you can accept?

The maximum width is 105”.

7. Do you trim the quilt?

Yes, I will trim the quilt unless you ask it to be not trimmed.

8. Do you have a minimum charge?

The minimum charge is $50. Any project smaller will round up to $50.

9. What if you don't have the quilt design I want?

Not a problem! We can look to find a desirable pattern.

10. Is batting included in your price?

No, however, I stock Quilters Dream Natural 100% cotton and Natural or White 80/20 Blend sold by the yard. You may want another type, which is fine. However, I recommend batting that is made for machine quilting.

11. If I am local, can I drop my quilt off?

If you are local to Boones Mill, VA we can arrange a place and time for drop-off/pick up.
